Admissions Prep for Selective Colleges
The KidsHub Admissions Prep Track is designed for families who want a calm, structured path into selective schools and international colleges, without last-minute panic.
Who this track is for
The track is suitable for teens who are considering or have already decided on international or selective pathways — boarding schools, independent schools in Greece, or universities abroad.
-
Students aged 13–18 with medium to strong English who want support in presenting themselves clearly.
-
Families who want a realistic overview of requirements, deadlines, and options.
-
Teens who benefit from regular, calm check-ins rather than "crash" preparation.
Three-step process
Assessment • Roadmap • Weekly Mentoring
1. Assessment call
-
30–45 minute call with parents and, when appropriate, the student.
-
Clarify goals: countries, school types, academic level, timeline.
-
Review language level, current grades, and any existing test results.
2. Roadmap & school list
-
Build a realistic school or college list with "reach", "target", and "safe" options.
-
Map requirements: exams, essays, recommendations, portfolios, interviews.
-
Create a month‑by‑month plan with shared responsibilities for student, family, and KidsHub.
3. Weekly mentoring & applications
-
Weekly or bi‑weekly 1:1 sessions to review progress, tasks, and documents.
-
Support with essays, activity lists, interview preparation, and email communication.
-
Final checks before submission and gentle support during decisions.
What students work on
-
Personal statement and essay writing that sounds like a real teenager, not a brochure.
-
Interview skills: calm conversation, explaining choices, answering "why this school?".
-
Project planning: turning interests into concrete activities and small leadership roles.
For parents
-
Clear overview of deadlines and what is realistic in the current year.
-
Honest feedback on student workload, readiness, and possible options.
-
Regular, short updates instead of surprise stress near application dates.
How this combines with other KidsHub programs
-
Many teens work in Academic Skills Lab and Admissions Prep at the same time, so essay and reading skills improve alongside applications.
-
1:1 Mentoring can continue after admissions to support the transition into a new school or country.
-
Summer Intensive blocks are often used to start or accelerate the Admissions Prep Track.
